Sabah takes further steps to develop a REDD+ Roadmap
A two-day workshop, organised by the Sabah Forestry Department (SFD) and WWF-Malaysia, was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah to further Sabah's REDD+ framework development process.
During the workshop participants were briefed on the roadmap which aims to promote the development of sub-national REDD+ Strategies to achieve REDD+ readiness.
Participants also brainstormed about the criteria for EU's site selection programme, as the EU and its Member States pledged four million Euros earlier this year.
Frederick Kugan, Deputy Director of the SFD and chairman of the workshop, also announced that an operational and a technical task force have been tentatively set up.
