Laos, Germany agree support for timber trade control

In early October the Lao government and the German Agency for International Development (GIZ) in Laos agreed a new 5.8 million euro technical cooperation project. The project aims to support the VPA process and intends to develop and improve timber control systems, stakeholder consultation and planning processes, coordination between national and provincial levels, and the testing of core elements of the improved timber control system at the provincial level.
