Indonesia’s forests cover almost 60 percent of the land and Indonesia is one of the world’s largest exporters of tropical timber. The majority of Indonesian forest products are exported to China, Japan, Korea and the EU. Indonesia was one of the first countries to start negotiating a VPA with the EU and it was the first Asian country to initial a VPA.
