REDD+ developments in Papua New Guinea

In an interesting article, Colin Filer who is an anthropologist and associate professor at the Crawford School of Economics and Government, Australian National University, explores where Papua New Guinea may be heading with a national strategy to achieve ‘REDD plus readiness' in three years.

The programme has been approved by the Policy Board of the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (UN-REDD). However, Filer states that a number of in-country challenges may need to be overcome first.
